Opportunity Description
Manage position to make best use of employees; select employees and develop their capabilities; plan for succession of key personnel; counsel employees effectively; administer discipline; handle human resource matters in accordance with company policy and procedures.
Establish work standards and schedules and ensure their effective implementation in the department; assign work to employees and train employees in work procedures and methods; review employees’ work for adequacy and take steps to correct inadequate performance; approve employees’ work schedules and time reports.
Supervise, control and monitor all Acceptance processes at Acceptance sites. Execute and maintain company schedules for work assigned at remote sites. Provides work direction for the Acceptance personnel. Maintain man-hour budget. Routinely submit required reports to the Site Manager.

Job Duties
- Responsible to motivate personnel and discipline employees according to Company policy. Responsible to evaluate and recommend the proper course of training for each employee under his or her care. Responsible for the overall safety of employees or visitor’s who enter into the testing area.
- Responsible for the acquisition of general test equipment. Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the calibration program in the Acceptance department.
- Interface closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and the Customer to investigate and resolve problems regarding company product and reported defects and issues, including open items identified in the Acceptance process.

- Maintain a daily housekeeping schedule to ensure safety, orderliness and monitor and maintain safe working conditions and practices. Ensure that all customer safety policies on the site are strictly followed by all staff members.

- Ensure compliance to the QA non- conforming product procedures. Responsible to notify suppliers on non-conforming product in a timely manner and must make sure discrepancies are thoroughly documented according to Company procedures

- Prepare schedule for daily activities and coordinate completion/progress with Production and the Customer.
- Maintain company documentation on Acceptance testing and provide original documentation to the Car History Books.
- Perform all other tasks assigned by the manager.
Education
An Associates degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferable and may substitute for some experience.
Experience & Skills Required
- At minimum, five year’s experience in warranty, production, quality or engineering management in the manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to direct and coordinate acceptance site activities effectively to maintain company delivery schedules.
- Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills to coordinate department activities.
- Must be capable of working in an active rail car environment. Must have proficient computer and reporting skill.
- Must be safety-oriented
- Must have good reasoning skills- judgment skills must be good.
- Must be able to lift/ pull a minimum of 40lbs
- Must have good customer relation skills
- Must have ability to foster good team building practices
- Must be available to travel and work at remote sites.
