Opportunity Description

Lead the operations organization and ensure the team meets safety, financial and KPI targets and improve the efficiency and profitability of the organization. Develop the operations capability and organization to meet growth targets. Manage all Manufacturing Operations – Purchasing, Production, Testing, Quality Control, Logistics, Planning and Manufacturing Engineering.

Job Duties

  • Establish and maintain a safe manufacturing environment and implement Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
  • Lead cross-departmental collaboration and ensure team cohesion.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement improved future states utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Improve Production Planning and Scheduling system. 
  • Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the molding and assembly process.
  • Implement and expand Manufacturing Resource Planning Software (MRP) capabilities.
  • Manage Production standards and procedures. 
  • Evaluate existing tooling, equipment, and machines for overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), make replacement recommendations, and establish Capital Budgets.
  • Expand employee cross training programs.
  • Expand and improve the supply chain.
  • Expand preventative maintenance procedures and scheduling.
  • Work with Human Resources to improve employee relations and resolve issues.
  • Liaise with Finance, Engineering and Sales Departments.
  • Work with IT/Networking administrators with implementation and with Cybersecurity requirements and confidentiality of materials deemed Controlled-Unclassified-Information (CUI). 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Manufacturing Discipline

Experience & Skills Required

  • Experience leading cross functional manufacturing teams. 
  • Experience in high part number low volume production environment.
  • Experience Manufacturing with Elastomers/Silicones and bonding to metal.
  • Training in and experience in applying Lean Six Sigma techniques.
  • Understanding of Mold/Tool design elastomer testing and compound formulation
  • Experience with Defense /Aerospace Manufacturing, ITAR rules, Classified or CUI.
  • Successful background in ISO9001 and AS9100 Quality Standards 
  • Experience in shock and vibration applications and production.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical machinery and hydraulics.
