The Assistant Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations and provide day-to-day support for the Regional CFO.

Job Duties

  • Prepares reports and analysis of results, including investigation of variances and their interpretation
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Assist in the completion of the Management’s Discussion and Analysis reporting.
  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly Balance Sheet review, analysis, and continuous assessment of proper accounting policy and procedures.
  • Provide A/R support and cash flow projections.
  • Key contributor in the general ledger implementation, including:
  • Managing a monthly consolidated financial reporting package.
  • Internal and external report rationalization.
  • Journal entries and Balance sheet review by entity to ensure all regional reporting requirements are met.
  • Liaises with leadership to adjust month-end and year-end entries adjustments.
  • Managing a monthly consolidated and divisional financial reporting package.
  • Internal and external report rationalization.
  • Balance sheet review by entity to ensure all regional reporting requirements are met.
  • Confirm process reengineering meets best practices for accounting, internal controls, and SOX
  • Automation and streamlining of current and future state reporting
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Proficient in General Ledger applications,
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting systems. Programming capability is a plus
  • Must have at least 3 years Construction experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and confidence
  • Team player and mentor to staff accountants and financial analysts
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
