Opportunity Description

HumanEdge has partnered qith a Medical Device client in Ramsey, NJ to hire an experienced Electronic Technician for a direct hire role! The Electronic Technician will be responsible for for testing and rework of medical instruments to meet quality standards and production requirements. 

Job Duties

Responsibilities:  

  • Perform troubleshooting to board level and/or component level, depending on design and complexity of PCB
  • Contribute to operation of manufacturing and service area and assure compliance with GMP, QSR, ISO, ESD and other regulatory requirements
  • Test and calibrate instruments Rework product and reconfigure using the following: Ability to follow assembly drawings, parts lists and process papers 
  • Using various manual and automated test equipment, in accordance with test documentation
  • Performing basic troubleshooting, as applicable to board level 
  • Performing basic troubleshooting on OEM items and replace parts as required Performing all required documentation and record keeping 
  • Identify consistent/repeating failures and report to management or assist Manufacturing Engineer in determining causes of problems
  • Participate in special projects, as assigned by manager
  • Assist in development of test methods and procedures, including review of test procedures prior to release
  • Train other Electronic Technicians on product testing and repair 

 

Experience & Skills Required

Position Specifications: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of satisfactory performance as an Electronic technician 
  • Basic understanding of Mfg operations, including product assembly, proper Maintenance of documentation, equipment calibration requirements, material control procedures and control of defective parts 
  • Demonstrated ability in previous work environment(s) to meet job description 
  • Proven application of electronics theory Use of computer equipment to operate automated test equipment and/or electronic data gathering 
  • Understanding of and ability to use all types of basic test equipment, hand tools and measurement equipment
  • Capable in working in multiple work areas (Manufacturing, Service center and Warehouse) on processing new equipment, returned goods and customer equipment
  • Ability to understand, interpret and use schematics, layouts and other technical documents
  • Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instruction 
  • Ability to work system level troubleshooting 
  • Ability to use soldering tools to perform basic repairs and replacement of components 
  • Ability to test, inspect, reconfigure, upgrade and repair of medical products 
  • Ability to remanufacture Returned Goods materials 
  • Ability to work independently, or as part of a group, and display a high quality of skill in both electronic and mechanical assembly with minimum of supervision 
  • Ability to work overtime to meet production and sales requirements
