Opportunity Description

The NextGen administrator maintains and contributes to the smooth flow of activities necessary for the department’s effective provision of service to customers by ensuring the supported Systems function properly; and provides on-call service for the supported System or Systems emergencies. Prior experience with NextGen EMR is a must.

 

Hybrid schedule – 50% onsite

Job Duties

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

·      Contributes to all in-service system training  of NextGen for the department staff, as well as house staff and attending physicians as necessary for all administered systems.

·      Assists with monitoring of interface between clinical and financial system as it relates to the Administered Systems and based on his intimate knowledge of the supported systems is part of any troubleshooting effort with the appropriate MIS Staff and users.

·      Serves as a liaison between MIS clinical, MIS technical and financial system (i.e. system analyst, network engineers, DBA’s, technical support staff) Recognizes system problems when they arise (i.e. application, interfaces, databases, add-ons, integration with special devices) and repairs either hardware or software as appropriate. Reports problems to the appropriate MIS Staff and documents the issue and resolution.

Education

·      BS in Computer Science Required

Experience & Skills Required

·      Previous experience with the System/Application required

·      Experience: 1-2 years of Systems Aministration of NexGen in a Ambulatory or Hospital setting.

Skills:

·      Technical PC skills required; Network Administration, MCSE

·      MS Office Skills-Power User
